Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent by way of a writ of Mandamus to dispose of the application for name change of patta dated 3.5.2013 in favour of the petitioner as recommended by the second respondent with respect to the part and parcel of the property measuring about 0.80 Acres in S.No.274, No.212, Panrutti Village in Walajabad Sub Registration District.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner claims that he is the absolute owner of the land and property admeasuring to an extent of 0.80 Acres in S.No.274, No.212, Panrutti Village in Walajabad Sub Registration District and according to him, an UDR patta was wrongly issued in the name of the non-existing Church and in this regard, the petitioner has submitted application dated 03.05.2013, praying https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

for necessary rectification in the UDR pertains to his property. The petitioner would further state that the second respondent vide communication dated 28.08.2014, made in Na.Ka.No.8922/2013/Aa1, addressed to the first respondent has also made positive recommendation and despite that, no orders have been passed and hence, came forward to file this writ petition.

3.Heard the submissions of Mr.B.Narayanan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.A.S.Senthilvel, learned Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2.

4.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the first respondent to take note of the communication/ report of the second respondent, dated 28.08.2014 made in Na.Ka.No.8922/2013/Aa1 and pass orders on the application dated 03.05.2013, submitted by the petitioner, in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
