The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondent to register the Adoption Deed dated 15.07.2024

2. According to the petitioner, she and her husband adopted one Divya, daughter of Thirumalaikumar and Vellankanni Mary on 14.04.2012 by performing necessary ceremonies. Now evidencing the adoption that had taken place in 2012 the adoption deed was executed between the parties on 15.07.2024 and the same was presented for registration before the respondent. However, the respondent refused the same and therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Mr.P.Harish, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondent on instruction would submit that in the case on hand, no refusal order has been passed. Therefore, it is open to the petitioner to take fresh token for presenting the documents and if the documents are presented for registration in accordance with procedure, the same will be considered.

4. In view of the specific stand taken by the respondent that no refusal order has been passed in this matter and if the document is presented 2/4

for registration, the same will be considered in accordance with law, the writ petition is disposed with following directions. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner already obtained token for presentation of document for registration before the respondent in TP/190981355/2024 on 16.08.2024 at 12.00 noon - 13.00 p.m. Therefore the petitioner is directed to present the document for registration before the respondent on 16.08.2024 at allotted slot and respondent is directed to register the document if it is otherwise in order.
