Mr.K.Raja Standing Counsel Order The Writ Petition has been filed seeking to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to pay the interest for the belated payment of PF, gratuity and earned leave salary at the rate of 12 percent per annum within a specified time, as may be fixed by this Court. 2.

The case of the petitioners is that they joined the services of the 1st respondent -Corporation on various dates and retired from service on 30.04.2025, 30.04.2025, 30.04.2025, 30.06.2025, 30.06.2025, 31.03.2025,

31.03.2025, 31.03.2025, 31.08.2024, 30.04.2025, 31.03.2025, 31.05.2025, 31.10.2024, 31.03.2025, 31.10.2024, 30.04.2025 and 31.12.2023 respectively. The monetary benefits have been settled to the petitioners after a long delay. However, no interest has been paid for the delayed period. Therefore, the petitioner has submitted representations to the respondents in the year 2026, requesting them to pay interest for the delayed period. Since the same were not considered, the present writ petition has been filed. 3.

The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent would fairly submit that they are willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount. 4.

Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of provident fund, gratuity and earned leave salary from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits of the petitioners within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
