This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to transfer the investigation in Cr. No.429 of 2016 from the file of the Inspector of Police, Vettavalam Police Station, to some other agency with a direction to conduct proper and fair investigation.

Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that initially, the police had registered a case in Cr. No.429 of 2016 under Section 174, Cr.P.C. and now, the same has been altered to one under Section 306, IPC.

Recording the aforesaid submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Criminal Original Petition is closed with a direction to the respondents/police to conduct a thorough investigation in Cr. No.429 of 2016 in the manner known to law, expeditiously.
