By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 1/4
2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 16.04.2025 seeking rectification of the patta wherein instead of Venkatesappa it is stated as "Chennai".

It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that petitioner's father Marappa purchased agricultural land measuring an extent of 1.96 cents comprised in Survey No.84 situated at Alaynatham Village, Hosur Taluk, Krishnagiri District, vide registered sale deed dated 25.05.1962 registered as Document No.1583/1962. It is stated that the petitioner's family has been in possession and enjoyment of the same. It is further submitted that Old Survey Number of the property was 84 and total extent shown in the said Survey Number was 1.96 cents. The old survey number was further sub-divided as 84/5, 84/6 and 84/7. It is stated that petitioner is in possession of the property comprised in Survey Nos.84/5 and 84/7, in all measuring about 0.58 cents.
During the sub-division, the entry in the patta it is wrongly mentioned as "Chennai" instead of Venkatesappa. It is also stated that petitioner's name does not find place in the online Patta No.74 and Survey Number 84/7. Petitioner thereafter submitted a representation for rectification of entry in patta and to include the name of the petitioner in patta, however, the same has not been considered till date. Hence this writ petition.

At the outset, it is submitted by Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents that the representation made by the petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. Agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.
5. In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the appropriate respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested persons/stake holders, including rival claimants within a period of 12 weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for receipt of certified copy. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
