ORDER
By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. This writ petition is filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the third respondent to forward the name of
petitioner to the respondents 1&2 for appointment and postings as Assistant Professor (History-Tamil Medium) pursuant to the provisional selection list published on 08/04/2015.
3. The petitioner would state that he has successfully completed M.A. (History) degree in May 2011 and he appeared for State Teachers Eligibility Test for Lectureship (SLET) in October, 2012. Thereafter, he applied for the post of Assistant Professors in Government Colleges as per the notification issued by the third respondent. He received a call letter for interview held on 25.03.2015 and secured 12 marks and thereby, he was provisionally selected for the post by the third respondent on 08.04.2015. However, due to challenge made by one M.Sibhikumaran in W.P.No.11070 of 2015, the petitioner was not given appointment and postings.
4. The petitioner would further state that by an order dated 14.12.2015, this Court has modified the stay granted in W.P.No.11070 of 2015 and therefore, there is no impediment to the third respondent to forward the name of the petitioner to the respondents 1 & 2 for issuance of appointment and postings orders. Since the second respondent did not take any action, the petitioner gave a representation dated 17.12.2015 and even then, the name of the petitioner was not forwarded, hence the present writ petition has been filed.
5. Heard the submissions of Mr.S.Kamadevan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
6. This Court, considering the facts and circumstances of this case and without going into the merits of the case, directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.12.2015 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
