ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent university to forthwith grant Affiliation to the Petitioner College for starting the two new Programmes, namaly, M.B.A. and M.C.A. Courses from the Academic Years 2024 - 2025 by considering and passing necessary orders on the application of the petitioner dated 15.03.2024.
2. Mr.K.J.Parthasarathy, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent university. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, this petition is taken up for final disposal.
3. The case of the petitioner is that, it is a College, which is affiliated to the respondent university and the petitioner college is functioning from the AY 2023 - 2024. Whileso, the petitioner has submitted an application dated 15.03.2024 to the respondent for starting of new programmes, namely M.B.A. and M.C.A. Courses from the AY 2024 - 2025 and they have also paid a sum of Rs.6,000/- towards the Page No.2 of 5
application fees and registration fees for the new programmes by way of demand drafts and also paid Rs.1,080/- towards G.S.T. Since the said application was not considered by the respondent till date, the petitioner has filed the above writ petition before this court for appropriate orders.

Though very many grounds have been raised in the above writ petition, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 15.03.2024 and pass appropriate orders on or before 18.08.2024, since the counselling for the above said programmes is going to start on 19.08.2024.
5. On the above said contentions, heard the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the limited request sought for by the petitioner college, this court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner college dated Page No.3 of 5
15.03.2024 and pass appropriate orders on or before 18.08.2024.
7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected writ miscellaneous petition is closed. 08.08.2024 Index : Yes / No Speaking order / Non-speaking order sp Note: Issue order copy on 09.08.2024.
