Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ in the nature of Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd Respondent to register the Lok-Adalat Award No. 1579/2022 dated 13.10.2022 passed by the Lok-Adalat, District the Legal Service Authority, Cuddalore and direct the Respondent to refund the excess stamp duty and Registration fee paid by the 1st petitioner.

O R D E R

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents has brought to notice of this Court that the petitioner has not presented any document for registration.

2. As far as the Lok Adalat award is concerned, it is to be construed as an order passed by the competent forum. Thus, there is no impediment for registering the Lok Adalat award, if presented for registration.

3. Therefore, the petitioner is at liberty to re-present the Lok Adalat award for registration and on such representation, the 2nd respondent shall follow the procedures as contemplated under the Registration Act and register the same, without causing any undue delay.

4. With these observations, the writ petition stands disposed. No costs.
