ORDER

This Criminal Original petition has been filed to direct the learned XX Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Allikulam, Chennai to conclude the trial of C.C.No.2922 of 2015 as a summary case under Section 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881, (as amended) within a stipulated time. 1/4

2.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner filed complaint against the respondent/accused for the offence punishable under Section 138 of N.I.Act and the case was taken on file by the learned XX Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Allikulam, Chennai in C.C.No.2922 of 2015. The case is pending from 2015 without any progress. Hence, the present petition has been filed.

3. I have considered the matter in the light of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

4. On perusal of the docket order, it appears that case has been protracted from 17.10.2018 without any valid reasons and now the case has been posted for further proceedings on 17.10.2022. Thereby, the learned XX Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Allikulam, Chennai is directed to complete the trial and dispose of the case in C.C.No.2922 of 2015 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
