This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to dispose of the application submitted by the petitioner on 22.02.2010.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the owner of the property situated at R.S.No.92/5, Old No.R.S.No.262, Subhrayapuram Village, Thirunallar, Puducherry. He would further state that the petitioner has filed a suit in O.S.No.177 of 1984 on the file of the Principal District Munsif, Karaikkal, seeking for declaration and the same was decreed in his favour on 18.01.1985. According to the petitioner, no appeal has been filed as against this decree. In this connection, the petitioner has made an application before the second respondent on 22.02.2010 seeking for measuring his land and consequently, issue a patta in his name. Since the second respondent has not passed any orders on his representation dated 22.02.2010, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

2.Heard M/s.Usha Ramman, the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.R.Harish, the learned Additional Government Pleader (Puducherry) for the respondents.

3.In view of the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition and without going into the merits of the claim made, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 22.02.2010 on its own merits and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
