By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be the Secretary of Temple Festival Committee of Polur Arulmigu Sree Mariamman Temple and he submitted a representation dated 16.08.2016 for conducting a cultural event which include song and dance program to be held on 24.08.2016 and the second respondent on receipt of the same, has rejected the representation vide impugned order dated 16.08.2016 without assigning any reasons and challenging the legality of the said order, the petitioner has come forward to file this Writ Petition.

3. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner who would submit that the respondent, without assigning any reason, has simply rejected the representation and hence, prays for appropriate orders.

4. This Court heard the submissions of Mr.A.N. Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

notice on behalf of the respondent.

5. As rightly contended by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the respondent has rejected the application submitted by the petitioner without assigning any reason. Hence, on the sole ground, it warrants interference.

6. In the result, the writ petition is partly allowed and the impugned order passed by the respondent dated 16.08.2016 is set aside and the matter is remanded to the respondent and he shall consider and pass orders in accordance with law, by a speaking order within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
