..Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to sanction journalist pension to the petitioner forthwith on the basis of the communication vide O.Mu.No.E3/43773/2010 dated 24.09.2013 issued by the working journalist scrunity committee dispensing with all formalities. O R D E R

The grievance of the writ petitioner is that the scheme of granting Pension to the Journalist has not been considered in respect of the case of the writ petitioner.

2.It is contended that the District Collector is the recommending authority, after conducting an enquiry and on verifying the records to be submitted by the writ petitioner. In other words, the scheme of Journalists pension can be extended on production of the relevant documents and after conducting an enquiry by the District Collector, who can forward the same for further orders to the Director of Information and Public Relations Department.

3.This being the factum of the case, the writ petitioner is at liberty to submit a fresh representation along with all relevant documents to the District Collector, who in turn shall https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

conduct an enquiry in respect of the claim of the writ petitioner and thereafter, forward the same to the appropriate authority for further consideration.

4.Accordingly, the writ petitioner is at liberty to submit a fresh representation along with all relevant documents to the District Collector within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If any such representation is received by the District Collector, then the District Collector shall conduct an enquiry and thereafter, issue appropriate orders and forward the papers to the Higher authority for passing final orders. Such an exercise shall be done within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
