This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to settle the contributory pension amount to the petitioner based on the representation made by the petitioner on 21.06.2024 and in view of the proceedings of the Assistant Engineer, dated 24.04.2023. 2.Heard Mr.S.Doraisamy, learned Senior Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.K.Rajkumar, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of respondents 1 to 4.

3.The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as a Temporary Casual Labour in the office of the 3rd respondent on 2007. Thereafter, he was promoted and finally he was working as Inspector of Assessment. He retired from service on 31.05.2023.
4.The grievance of the petitioner is that the respondents had deducted certain amounts from his salary in the name of contributory pension scheme. After the retirement of the petitioner, the respondents did not take any steps to settle the contributory pension amount to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner made representation in this regard to the 3rd respondent on 21.06.2024. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.
5.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of the grievance expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the 3rd respondent to deal with the representation dated 21.06.2024 and take a decision on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6.The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the 3rd respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order. 7.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions.
