The prayer in the present writ petition is to call for the records of the 1st respondent in G.O.Ms.No.61, Home, Prohibition and Excise II Department, dated 10.08.2007, directing recovery of a sum of Rs.23,56,884/- from the petitioner and quash the same.

When the matter was taken up for hearing on 06.07.2018, the learned counsel for the petitioner sought for a short adjournment. Therefore, the Writ Petition was directed to be listed on 16.07.2018. On 16.07.2018, there was no representation for the petitioner. Since the conditional order has not been complied with till 16.07.2018 the stay granted on 13.08.2008 was vacated on 16.07.2018 and the Writ Petition was ordered to be listed on 18.07.2018.

3.On 18.07.2018, even though the petitioner's name was printed in the cause list, there was no representation on behalf of petitioner. Hence, the Registry was directed to list the writ petition under the caption 'for dismissal' on 19.07.2018.

Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, inspite of the matter being listed under the caption 'for dismissal', in the morning, there was no representation for the petitioner. When the matter is called again at 2.15 pm also there is no representation for the petitioner. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed for non prosecution. No costs.
