Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation made on 16.10.2015 and issue patta in his favour in respect of an extent of 1 acre dry land comprised in Survey No. 24, Ellaigramam Village, Ulundurpettai Taluk, Villupuram District. The petitioner made a representation on 16.10.2015 to the 2nd respondent stating that he has been in possession and enjoyment of land to an extent of 1 acre in S.No. 24, Ellaigramam Village, Ulundurpettai Taluk, Villupuram District, for the past so many years and sought issuance of patta. Since the said representation has not been considered so far, the present writ petition is filed.

Taking into consideration, the pendency of the representation of the petitioner, with regard to the relief sought, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider and pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 16.10.2015, on merits, in accordance with law and after affording an opportunity to the petitioner as well as to respondents 3 and 4, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
