Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS to direct the 2nd respondent to produce the petitioner's sister Selvi.A.Rasathi, aged 19 years, before this Hon'ble Court and set her at liberty. For Petitioner :

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] It is the case of the petitioner that after the death of his parents, he has been taking care of his only sister A. Rasathi and that she went missing from 27.10.2021 and thereafter, her whereabouts are not known. Hence, he has filed this Habeas Corpus petition with the above prayer.

2. Today, Mr.M.Raja, Sub Inspector of Police, J-9, Thuraipakkam Police Station, is present and produced the detenue R.Rasathi, the petitioner's sister, before us. The petitioner is also present.

3. When enquired by us, the detenue A. Rasathi stated that her date of birth is 31.01.2002; she is 19 years old; she is in love with one Badrinath and wants to marry him. She further stated that she is not in the illegal detention of anyone and that she is staying in SVS Ladies Hostel, Karapakkam, and that her mobile number is 7397491437.

4. We find that the detenue A. Rasathi is not in the illegal custody of anyone and she is staying in the Ladies Hostel on her own volition. Hence, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
