This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents herein to register a case on the petitioner's complaint dated 20.10.2021 and proceed with investigation in accordance with law.
2.The petitioner's grievance is that the petitioner had lodged a complaint on 20.10.2021, before the second respondent stating that he involved himself in the process of safeguarding properties belonging to various temples all over the State for more than two decades. On 09.10.2021, the petitioner had visited the Mannarswamy Temple and at that time he noticed that
there was a tiled house constructed in the temple property by obstructing the devotees, who visit the temple for worship by one S.Jayamurugan and on enquiry about unauthorized construction of the house in the temple poromboke property and the said Jayamurugan informed that he is a tenant under one M.Thangaraj, who rented out the said property in favour of S.Jayamurugan for the monthly rent of Rs.3,000/-.
3.On the petitioner's verification, the electricity service connection also found in the name of the said Thangaraj. The said Thangaraj has no connection with the said property, which is under the control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. It is a clear case of illegal occupation of Temple property. Hence he lodged the above said complaint. Though C.S.R.No.486 of 2021 assigned, no action has been taken. Hence he filed this petition.
4.The learned Government Advocate [Crl. Side] submits that on the complaint of the petitioner C.S.R.No.486 of 2021 assigned and a communication with regard to the above said issue has been sent to the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and to the Revenue Department. As soon as the report received appropriate action would be taken.
5.Recording the submissions of the learned Government Advocate [Crl. Side], this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
