Respondents Writ Petition (Criminal) filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records from the file of the fourth respondent in respect of the order issued in Na.Ka.No.11/C6-PS/2025, dated 24.06.2025 as illegal, incompetent and arbitrary and consequently direct the second respondent to grant permission and provide adequate Police protection for conducting Rally Awareness of Ganja and Drugs, which is scheduled on 03.07.2025 morning 10 am to 1 p.m. at Mayiladuthurai District, Thalaignayiru Panchayat, Pattavarthi Mookcot.

ORDER

The petitioners have filed the present Writ Petition praying to call for the records from the file of the fourth respondent in respect of the order issued in Na.Ka.No.11/C6-PS/2025, dated 24.06.2025 as illegal, incompetent and arbitrary and consequently direct the second respondent to grant permission and provide adequate Police protection for conducting Rally Awareness of Ganja and Drugs, which is scheduled on 03.07.2025 morning 10 am to 1 p.m. at Mayiladuthurai District, Thalaignayiru Panchayat, Pattavarthi Mookcot.

2. Since already the date that had been fixed for the Rally is over, the relief sought for in this Writ Petition had become infructuous. However, the petitioners are at liberty to give fresh representation by fixing a fresh date and venue and on receipt of such representation, the respondents are directed to consider the same and give permission with reasonable restrictions.

3. With the above observations and direction, this petition is disposed of. 03.07.2025 cs
