Respondents [R4 impleaded as per order dt.23.11.2012 in MP.1/2012] Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to change the nature of land in Revenue Records as agricultural land in respect of land in survey No.439/7 an extent of 0.05.5 Hec at Lakkampatti Village Mettur Taluk by considering the petitioners representation dated 17.8.2012.

Heard the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the parties concerned.

2. Though the prayer is for a larger relief, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if this Court passes an order directing the 1st respondent to pass orders on the representation made by the petitioner, dated 17.8.2012, within a time frame.

3. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondents has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.

4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the parties concerned, the 1st respondent is directed to pass orders on the representation made by the petitioner, dated 17.8.2012, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, as well as the 4th respondent herein, and the other persons concerned, if any. The petitioner is directed to furnish a copy of the representation, dated 17.8.2012, to the 1st respondent, along with a copy of this order. However, it is made clear that this Court, by this order, has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter.

5. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of, with the above directions. No costs.
