ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 2nd and 3rd respondent to rectify the extent of the property mentioned in Patta No.543, wherein instead of 8 cents in has been inadvertently shown as 7.50 cents.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner purchased the property in Survey No.70/11, measuring an extent of 8 cents, situated in Azhakirapalayam Village, Alathur Circle, Perambalur Post, Perambalur District. Pursuant to the purchase, petitioner requested for transfer of Patta in his name and was issued with Patta No.543. However, while examining the patta it was noticed that the extent is shown as 7.50 cents instead of 8 cents. Aggrieved by the mistake in the extent of land entered in the patta, petitioner submitted a representation dated 05.05.2025, before the 1st respondent. However, no action has been taken by the 1st respondent till date. Aggrieved by the same the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 2/5

On this being pointed out, the learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that they would consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.05.2025 seeking rectification of mistake in the patta and pass appropriate orders within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider petitioner's representation dated 05.05.2025 seeking rectification of mistake in the patta and pass appropriate orders after affording the petitioner and any other interested parties an opportunity of hearing within a period of 12 weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
