Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to register the general power of attorney presented by the petitioner's husband on 02.08.2016 and direct the respondent to return the document to the petitioner.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner claims to be the owner of the land admeasuring to an extent of 3969 sq.ft. bearing Plot No.G, known as Plot No.64, comprised in S.No.63/3, presently sub divided as S.No.63/49, Patta No.2356, situate in "High View Nagar" of Ramapuram Village, Ambattur Taluk, Thiruvalluvar District, Door No.4/1, Vivekananda Nagar, Ramapuram Village, Chennai through a registered sale deed bearing D.No.1591 of 2011 registered on the file of the Joint Sub Registrar, Saidapet and claims to be in possession and enjoyment of the same.

3.The petitioner executed general Power of Attorney in favour of her husband and it was presented for registration before the respondent.

However, the respondent neither registered nor returned the same, stating some deficiencies and the petitioner's husband in this regard, has submitted a representation dated 02.08.2016 to the respondent and despite https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the reception and acknowledgement of the same, no response is forthcoming and hence, came forward to file this writ petition. 4.Heard the submissions of Mr.K.S.Jeyaganeshan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Pattabiraman, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

5.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the representation dated 02.08.2016 submitted by the petitioner's husband, in accordance with law and pass orders, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
