The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to appoint the petitioner on compassionate ground appointment.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's father viz., M.Anil Kumar died on 16.09.2010 while he was in service. After his death, the petitioner's mother gave an application for compassionate appointment on 10.03.2011. However, the respondents did not consider the same. In this connection, the petitioner has given a representation dated 17.08.2024 to the 1st respondent, and such representation is yet to be considered by the 1st respondent. 2/5
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would also contend that he has obtained a conductor's license.

Per contra, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the 1st respondent would submit that the application is belated one; therefore, the petitioner is not entitled to any compassionate appointment. However, he would further contend that they would consider the said representation of the petitioner within a reasonable time.
5. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above submission, without going to the merits of this Writ Petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.08.2024, and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5
7. In the result, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
