Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent, order to issue a fresh order of appointment to the petitioners in a suitable post under Group IV cadre, not coming under the purview of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission as ordered in W.P.No.24771 of 2006 dated 20.08.2009, by extending the benefit of G.O.Ms.No.246 dated 29.08.2003 and G.O.Ms.No.255 dated 24.09.2003, as rendered earlier to similarly placed 510 retrenched census employees subsequent to the G.O.Ms.No.209 P & AR (P) dated 23.11.2001 Department.

When the writ petition was taken up for hearing on 20.11.2017, there was no representation for the petitioner and hence, the matter was ordered to be posted on 21.11.2017 under the caption 'for dismissal'.

2.Today, even though, the matter is listed under the caption 'for dismissal', neither the petitioner nor his counsel is present to prosecute the matter. Hence the Writ petition is dismissed for non prosecution. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed.
