O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 03.11.2023 and to disburse the death cum retirement benefits of the petitioner's brother to the petitioner and her sister within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2. Heard Mr.K.Venkataramani, learned Senior Counsel for petitioner and Mr.David Sunder Singh, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents.

3. The case of the petitioner is that her brother Umapathy was working as a Commercial Inspector in TANGEDCO and he died in harness on 18.04.2022 when he was working in the office of the second respondent. He is unmarried and on his demise, he left the petitioner and her sister Tulasi as the surviving legal heirs.

4. The petitioner made a representation to the respondents to disburse the death cum retirement benefits of her brother to the petitioner 2/4

and her sister. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed seeking for appropriate directions.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 03.11.2023 on its own merits and in accordance with law and convey the decision to the petitioner with respect to the disbursement of death cum retirement benefit of her brother within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation to the second respondent along with all relevant documents and also a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
