Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd respondents to consider and pass necessary orders on the representation dated 05.05.2016 made by the petitioner herein within stipulated time period as may be fixed by this Honourable Court. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.The petitioner claims to be the 33rd Pontiff of Sri Chidambaram Pathapoojai, Ambalathadum Swamigal Thirumadam, No.58, Ambalathadum Swamigal Madam Street, Pondicherry, and would allege that the local groups/ obstructors, who do not have title at all concocted and fabricated the documents as they are the owners of the properties belonging to the said Mutt and in this regard, submitted representation dated 05.05.2016, to the respondents followed by reminder dated 23.05.2016 and the first respondent on receipt of the same, has directed the second respondent to act on the said representation vide, letters dated 01.06.2016 and 04.07.
2016 and the Deputy Inspector General of Registration, Vellore has also directed the second respondent to act on the said representation vide, letter dated 26.06.2016 despite that, the second respondent is yet to take any form of action and hence, came forward to file this writ petition. 3.Heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Pattabiraman, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2. 4.
the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the second respondent to act on the communication of the first respondent, dated 01.06.2016 and 04.07.2016 and on the communication of the Deputy Inspector General of Registration, Vellore, dated 26.06.2016, in accordance with law and after putting on notice, the respondents 3 to 10, pass orders, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner as well as to the respondents 3 to 10.
