Respondents in all the writ petitions Petitions under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to regularise the services of the petitioners in the post of Water Supply Assistant in the regular time scale of pay with effect from 4.10.85, 1.2.92, 1.7.87, 4.10.85, 1.2.92 & 2.9.97 respectively and grant them all the consequential benefits, both service and monetary. ORDER
Seeking a direction to the respondents to regularise the services of the petitioners in the post of Water Supply Assistant by bringing them in the regular time scale of pay, the petitioners filed O.A.Nos.5103 to 5108 of 2001 before the Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal, Chennai. Subsequently, the matter came on transfer and renumbered as W.P.Nos.2701 to 2706 of 2007.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners, the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1 & 2 and the learned counsel for the third respondent.
3. When the matters were taken up, Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1 & 2, placing on record the proceedings of the P.A. to the District Collector (Development), Kanniyakumari in Na.Ka.No.V3/V.P.629/2005 dated 14.3.2015, submitted that the writ petitions have become infructuous, since the petitioners have been brought under the regular time scale of pay and their services have also been regularised with effect from 23.6.2006. He has also placed on record a copy of the letter written by the petitioner in W.P.No.2701 of 2006 viz., Mr.P.Prasannakumaran Thampi to withdraw the writ petition.
4. In view of the above submission, placing on record the proceedings dated 14.3.2015, the writ petitions are dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
