O R D E R

The prayer in the writ petition is for a mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.05.2010, for issuance of patta in his favour bearing S.No.77/1 to an extent of 1.46 acres at Kodumanoor village, coming under the limits of Keezhapalayur panchayat, Virudachalam Taluk, Cuddalore District.

2. Heard both sides.

3. Since the prayer in the writ petition is only for consideration of representation dated 07.05.2010 by the respondent regarding issuance of patta, the same can also be considered by the respondent of course, on merits and in accordance with law and if need be after affording an opportunity of being heard, if not already considered and decided.

4. Therefore, there shall be an order of direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.05.2010 on merits and in accordance with law, regarding the issuance of patta based on the claim made by the petitioner and counter claim, if any and pass a reasoned order within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Index:
