Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 10.01.2011 requesting him to grant CPS Amount bearing No.7007822 to the petitioner.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.T.Ravikumar, learned counsel on behalf of the respondent.

2. The petitioner was initially appointed as Grade II Police Constable. The petitioner resigned from service on 24.09.2007. His resignation was accepted and an order to that effect was passed on 07.11.2008. The petitioner submitted an application to settle his Contributory Pension Scheme amount. The application was forwarded by the Commandant TSP II Battalion, Avadi vide proceedings dated 11.11.2008. However, there was no follow up action taken by the respondent, resulting in filing this writ petition.

3. The respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representation dated 10.01.2011 on merits and as per law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the representation dated 10.01.2011 along with a copy of this order so as to enable the respondent to take early action in the matter. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
