Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to include the name of the petitioner in the Sports Merits List for Biology based Degree Course (20132014) by ranking him proportionate to the marks awarded to him as per G.O.Ms.53 dated 24.05.2012 and prepare a fresh merit list and finalize the allotment of seats based on such fresh merit list prepared accordingly.

The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondents to include his name in the Sports Merits List for Biology based Degree Course in respect of the academic year 2013-2014.

2. Though this Court has granted an interim order on 05.07.2013, the same was vacated subsequently on 12.07.2013. Now, we are in the year 2017 and the academic year 2017-2018 is in progress. Therefore, I find that the prayer sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous and however, it is open to the petitioner to work out his other remedies if any, available under law, before the appropriate forum. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
