The present writ petition has been instituted challenging the enforcement action initiated by Greater Chennai Corporation for removal of encroachment.
2. The Commissioner, Chennai Corporation, addressed a letter to the District Collector, on 08.08.2024, which would show that encroachments had already been removed on 21.05.2024.
3. However, it is brought to the notice of this Court that the debris from the public road are yet to be removed and the said debris is causing obstruction to free flow of traffic and free usage of road by the road users.
4. In this regard, the first respondent, Executive Engineer, Zone IV, Tondiarpet, is directed to conduct spot inspection and remove the debris, if any found and ensure that the road is cleared for free usage of road for vehicular traffic in that locality. The said exercise is directed to be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a coy of this order. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected W.M.P.No.25912 of 2024 is ordered on payment of separate court fee and W.M.P.Nos. 25915 & 25919 of 2024 are closed. (S.M.S.,J.)
