O R D E R
This writ petition is filed for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.03.2025 within a reasonable period as fixed by this court.
2. The petitioner's brother and mother died in the year 2021 and 2022 respectively. They were buried in the cemetery belonging to Padiyanallur Panchayat, as per Hindu Rites and Customs. While so, the petitioner's family members received information that the grave of his mother and brother would be demolished in view of a proposal to construct an electric crematorium in the said graves. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation on 15.03.2025, to the respondents requesting not to disturb the graves of his mother and brother. Since the respondents failed to consider his representation, the petitioner filed the writ petition for the above stated relief.
3. Considering the limited prayer of the petitioner and considering the Page No.2 of 4
fact that the petitioner's representation has been kept pending for more than 3 months, a direction is issued to the 4 th respondent, to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.03.2025, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. In the result, the Writ Petiton is disposed of with the above direction. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs. 09.07.2025 Index :
