2. The petitioner claims to be the Headman [Naatamai] of Kamaraj Nagar Village and in connection with the temple festival, namely Karupparayan Kovil, Erode District, scheduled to be held on 05.09.2016, he submitted an application dated 18.08.2016 to the respondent praying for appropriate direction to conduct cultural programme which include song and dance programme and since it has not been given disposal, came forward with this writ petition.
3. Mr.D.Veerasekaran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner for the present is not interested in conducting song and dance programme in the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
temple festival and it is enough to permit them to conduct temple festival alone and prays for appropriate orders.
4. Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent would submit that in the light of two contradictory judgments rendered by this Court, similar matters have been referred for consideration by a Larger Bench.
5. In the light of the said submission of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that no cultural event which include song and dance programme will be conducted in connection with the above said temple festival, the respondent is directed to consider the application/representation submitted by the petitioner dated 18.08.2016 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders on or before 03.09.2016 and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
6. This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
