ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to consider and allot the admission for the petitioner for the Under Graduate Course, B.Sc. Agriculture at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Campus, Lawley Road, Marudhamalai Road, Coimbatore - 641 003.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner completed his Higher Secondary Course in the year March 2016 and he was ranked No.1774 out of 32619 in Over all rank. The respondent had conducted for counseling for admission and the petitioner was called for C8 Batch counseling in the first phase on 05.07.2016. During counseling, the officials of the respondent informed the petitioner that there is no vacant seat for B.Sc. Agriculture and directed him to join B.Sc. Horticulture. Hence, the petitioner was forced to opt for B.Sc. Horticulture at Periyakulam Government Agriculture College. Thereafter, the petitioner came to know that many candidates who have secured lesser percentage than the petitioner were allotted seat in B.Sc.

Agriculture in the second phase of counseling since the seats blocked by the high scored candidates have not pursued with the admission in the agriculture. Thereafter, the petitioner approached the respondent to allot admission to the petitioner for B.Sc. Agriculture. In this regard, the petitioner had made representation to the respondent on 23.8.2016. respondent has neither replied nor allotted a seat to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present Writ Petition.

The learned counsel for the respondent submitted that the candidates mentioned in the Additional affidavit filed petitioner have filed a Writ Petition and as per the directions of this Court, they were given admission to B.Sc. Agriculture.

5. Considering the rival submissions, this Court directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.8.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
