O R D E R

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to provide the police protection to the petitioner and her husband based on the Petitioner's representation dated 23.10.2021 pending on his file.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the elected member of the

Panchayat and she lodged a complaint dated 23.10.2021 to the first respondent against the respondents 3 to 6, stating that the respondents 3 to 6 involved in misappropriation of public funds under various schemes and are forcing the petitioner and others to toe the line to the same and when all these were raised, the third respondent one Sudha called the petitioner by her caste name and threatened her and when the same was complained to the Block Development Officer,he also supported the said Sudha, It is further submitted that the complaint lodged by her was forwarded by the first respondent to the second respondent and since no action taken, the petitioner apprehending threat at the hands of the respondents 3 to 6 had filed this petition.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the complaint is given through online and no physical complaint has been given by the petitioner, to verify the veracity of the complaint, the presence of the petitioner is necessary.

4. In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court finds that when a specific complaint has been made attracting S.C./S.T. Act, and the complaint has been made against the President, B.D.O and other Panchayat members, this Court finds it appropriate to direct the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tiruvannamalai to conduct enquiry in this regard.

5. Accordingly, the petitioner is directed to appear before the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tiruvannamalai and produce the copy of the complaint dated 23.10.2021, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on receipt of the same, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tiruvannamalai is directed to conduct enquiry and proceed in accordance with law.

6. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
