ORDER
This writ petition has been filed challenging the resolution passed by the third respondent dated 19.07.2024, thereby decided to take away the cheque issuance power.
2. Heard and perused the materials available on record.
3. The petitioner has been elected as a Ward member for 7th ward of the L.N.Puram Village Panchayat. Among the elected ward members, the petitioner was elected as a Vice President of the said Panchayat. Due to various irregularities committed by the petitioner, other ward members had initiated proceedings as against the petitioner. Therefore, the third respondent, who is being the President of the said Panchayat, issued notice to the petitioner for the meeting to be convened on 19.07.2024.
4. On the said meeting, the third respondent resolved to take away the cheque issuing power of the petitioner and appointed another ward member as co-signatory of the cheque. The said resolution was duly communicated to the first respondent and the first respondent is yet to pass an order. At this juncture, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the resolution passed by the third
respondent. Now, the petitioner also submitted explanation before the first respondent and it is pending for passing final orders.
5. In view of the above, the first respondent is directed to pass orders on merits and accordance with law, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
