ORDER

The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the Special Court under TNPID Act cases, Coimbatore to dispose of the case in CC No.13 of 2012 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that on the basis of the complaint lodged by one C.Aruchamy, a case in Crime No.8 of 2012 was registered against nine persons for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 120(B), 406 and 420 IPC and Section 5 of TNPID Act, 1997. After completion of investigation, charge sheet was filed before the Special Court under TNPID Act cases, Coimbatore and the same was also taken on file as CC No.13 of 2012, in which, the petitioner herein was arrayed as L.W.855. Though the trial has commenced in the year 2012, the same is yet to be concluded so far. Hence, the present petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that in the said case, there are nearly 300 witnesses, involving various other Districts also. Therefore, the case stood adjourned periodically.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the Special Court under TNPID Act cases, Coimbatore to call the case in CC No.13 of 2012 at least once in a month and dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible.
