The petitioner has come up with this Writ Petition seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to renew her passport vide Passport No.Z1947466, by processing the Application Reference Number 21-1004356125 dated 26.07.2021.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is in possession of the passport from the year 2011 issued by the District Passport Office. The said passport is expired on 22.12.2021. For renewal of the passport, the petitioner filed an application for renewal of passport on 26.07.2021. However, till date no order was passed. Hence, the present writ petition is filed.
3. Mr.Sandeep Kumar Ambalavanan, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that this Court may issue a direction to the respondent to consider the renewal application dated 26.07.2021, in accordance with law within a reasonable time as fixed by this Court.
4. Ms.V.Sudha, learned Counsel appearing for the respondents takes notice and he further submits that the renewal application will be considered in accordance with law and as per the guidelines of the Passport Acts & rules within a reasonable time as fixed by this Court.
5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for respondents and perused the materials placed on record.
6. Considering the limited requests made by the Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion, this Court inclined to issue a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's renewal application dated 26.07.2021 in accordance with law within a period of 8 weeks from the date of copy of this Order.
