Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to accord the sanction and issue the permanent license based on the application made as early as on 22.11.2021 in favour of the petitioner forthwith without any further delay.

ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction to the respondents to grant sanction and issue permanent licence to the petitioner on the basis of an application given on 22.02.2021. 2.In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, the petitioner claimed that he had been running a business dealing with fireworks / Crackers atleast from the year 2018 onwards. He is resident of Mahe within the Union Territory of Puducherry. He claimed that he had never misused the licence. He had applied for permanent / yearly licence on 22.11.2021. Aggrieved that no action or no steps have been taken regarding the application, this writ petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus.
3.Mr.V.Manohar, learned counsel for the petitioner, stated that the petitioner had been granted permit by all the requisite authorities and also been earlier granted permission and licence to sell Fireworks / Crackers. It is also stated that the delay in passing orders in the application of more than one and half years is causing much hardship and no reason also had been forwarded.
4.On the other hand, the learned Government Advocate, on behalf of the respondents, stated that the application of the petitioner is under active consideration and that orders shall be passed. 5.Let me not enter into any further discussion, since the matter is under consideration before the 4th respondent. But I would issue a Mandamus directing the 4th respondent / the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mahe, to pass orders on the application of the petitioner herein on or before 10.03.2023. No further orders are required. This Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
Consequently, connected Writ Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
