This criminal original petition has been filed to direct the respondent to file charge sheet in Crime No.583 of 2016 before the competent court within a stipulated period.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State.

3. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the FIR was registered only on 07.04.2016.

4. Taking into consideration, the nature of the allegations in the FIR, this Court cannot issue any direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation in a time bound manner.

Hence, this petition is closed with a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation as expeditiously as possible and either file a final report or closure report, as the case may be.
