ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation and

file a final report in Crime No.551 of 2013 within the stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he has lodged a complaint against one Vijayaraman and others and the same was registered as FIR in Crime No.551 of 2013 on the file of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 324, 354 and 506(ii) IPC. Though the complaint was registered on 23.11.2013, till date, final report was not filed. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.551 of 2013 pending on his file and file a final report, if not already filed, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is ordered.
