Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to remove the encroachment made by respondents 2 and 3 or any other people on the 20 feet wide public road in Survey No.160, Ramapuram Village, Maduravoyal Taluk, and restore the same for public access.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) Alleging that respondents 2 and 3, besides several others, have encroached on the 20 feet wide public road in Survey No.160, Ramapuram Village, Maduravoyal Taluk, the petitioner sent representation on 17.6.2024 to the first respondent. As the said representation did not evoke any response, the present writ petition is filed.

2. Considering the narrow scope of the relief sought in this writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to the consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.6.2024 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in

accordance with law, of course after affording an opportunity to all the interested persons, including respondents 2 and 3. The entire exercise shall be concluded by the first respondent within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
