By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
The petitioner claims to be the resident of Door No.17, Mettu Street, Athuvampadi Village, Polur Taluk, Thiruvannamalai District and according to him, there is a public pathway/road from Athuvampadi Eri Kodi to Kottaimalai of Athuvampadi Village and Panchayat, Polur Taluk, Thiruvannamalai District, maintained by the Government which is exclusively for ingress and egress of the people of the locality and however, the 8th respondent is preventing them from using the said public pathway/road and in this regard, submitted a representation to the respondents 1 to 3 and despite that, the 8th respondent is preventing the villages which include the petitioner from using the said pathway/public road and hence, came forward to file this writ petition.
Heard the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Pattabiraman, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3, 5 & 6 and Mr.O.Selvam, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 4 & 7. Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the 4th respondent to consider and disposed of the petitioner's representation dated 08.07.2016 in accordance with law, after putting on notice, the 8th respondent herein and pass orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner as well as to the 8th respondent. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
