Respondents Prayer : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issue of writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to consider Petitioner's representation dated 11.07.2016 and consequently direct the 3rd respondent to provide Electricity connection to petitioner's house bearing Door No.811, Pudur Main Road, Pukirivari Post, Kallakurichi. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner contends that he is the owner of the property in Survey No.117/A13 admeasuring about 0.02 cents acres vacant land. He constructed a new house in the property and residing there by paying tax to the Panchayat. Since there is no electricity service connection to the said property, the petitioner has given representation to the respondents on

11.07.2016 seeking electricity service connection alongwith application. So far, no action has been taken on his application. Therefore, the petitioner is compelled to approach this Court by way of this writ petition.

3. Heard Mr.R.Ranjith Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Varun Kumar, learned Standing Counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4. It is evident from the house tax receipt dated 18.02.2016 that the petitioner is the owner of the property and paying house tax till date. Further, the Village Administrative Officer certificate would reveal that the petitioner is residing in the above said property. The petitioner has given application to the respondent on 11.07.2016 for providing residential service connection alongwith representation but so far no action has been taken. Since the petitioner seeks residential electricity service connection, the third respondent is directed to act upon the petitioner's application, as per law and provide electricity service connection, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.

Post the matter for compliance on 17.10.2016. 01.9.2016 FOR REPORTING COMPLIANCE WP.No.30492/16: This case having been posted on Thursday, the Twentieth day of October 2016 under the Caption "For Reporting Compliance"and pursuant to order of this Court dt.1.9.2016 and made herein and in the presence of the aforesaid Advocate, the Court made the following order: This case is posted today under the caption "For reporting compliance".
