Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to grant a permission to conduct the Vinayagarchathurthi Pooja and Procession on 5.9.2016, 6.9.2016 and 7.9.2016 at P.Nallagoundanpatti Post, Omalur Post, Salem District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 23.8.2016. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner had filed an application to the respondent, praying for necessary permission to conduct festival in connection with Vinayagarchathurthi, which falls on 05.09.2016 and despite, receipt and acknowledgement of the same, no orders have been passed and hence, came forward to file this writ petition.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the event of permission being granted, only festival alone will take place and no cultural programme, which include song and dance programme will take place and prays for appropriate orders.

4.This Court also heard the submissions of Mr.K.Thangapandi, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

5.In the light of the above facts and circumstances, this Court directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 23.08.2016, by tomorrow (02.09.2016) and pass orders and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
