When this petition was taken up, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the proper investigating authority is the Assistant Commissioner of Police, but the petitioner has failed to implead the said official. Further, he made an undertaking to the effect that necessary steps will be taken by the authorities to complete the enquiry in Crime No.614 of 2016 pending on the file of the respondent, and file final report as expeditiously as possible.

2.Recording the said submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
