ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- (The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 15.10.2021 for the offences under Sections 420, 465, 468, 471 of IPC read with Section 12(1-A)(a), 12(1)(b) of Passport Act, 1967, in Crime No.01 of 2021, seeks bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner who is a Srilankan Refugee, has obtained Indian Passport illegally by producing forged documents at the Regional Passport Office, Trichy, in the year 2019. Hence, the complaint.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner married an Indian woman and subsequently, the authorities issued him Aadhaar Card, Voter ID and other residential https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

proofs as Indian Citizen and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He would submit that this is the 2nd application for bail and the earlier application was dismissed by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.21027 of 2021 dated 09.11.2021 and that the petitioner has been suffering incarceration for more than 40 days from 15.10.2021. Hence, he prays for grant of bail to the petitioner. 4.The learned Government Advocate raised strong objection stating that the investigation is in progress.

5. The nature of allegation leveled against the petitioner required a detailed investigation and hence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
