ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to provide electricity connection to the petitioner, within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the Electricity Board produced the instructions received from the 1st respondent. On going through the same, it is seen that, the 1st respondent is willing to give electricity connection. But however, the 3rd respondent who is the sister of the petitioner is obstructing and is threatening to self immolate herself. Therefore, the 1st respondent is an predicament in giving the electricity service connection to the petitioner.

3/5 3.In the considered view of this Court, a mere threat on the part of the 3rd respondent cannot prevent the Electricity Board from giving the service connection. Hence, the 2nd respondent is directed to provide police protection to the 1st respondent and the 1st respondent shall provide electricity connection to the petitioner, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. If there are any private dispute between the petitioner and the 3 rd respondents, the same can be agitated before the competent court in the manner known to law.
