Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to re-issue the doctoral certificates of the petitioners herein without the endorsement of "external part time mode".

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondent University to reissue the doctoral certificates of the petitioners without the endorsement "External Part Time Mode".

2.The learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent University submitted that the issue raised by the petitioners was placed in the Syndicate and a decision was taken to issue fresh doctoral certificates without the endorsement "External Part Time Mode". The learned counsel submitted that the petitioners can be directed to surrender their original doctoral certificates to the respondent University and the University will issue fresh certificates to the petitioners without the endorsement.

3.In view of the specific stand taken by the respondent University, there shall be a direction to the petitioners to surrender the original doctoral certificates to the respondent University. The respondent University on receipt of the same, shall furnish a fresh doctoral certificate to each of the petitioner, without the endorsement "External Part Time Mode", within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the original certificate.

4.This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
