..Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to issue patta to the petitioner house site in No.112, Padasalai Street, in Alathur Village in Tiruporur Taluk, Kanchipuram District based on 50 years of possession.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner claims to be in possession of the house site bearing Door No.112, Padasalai Street, Alathur Village, Tiruporur Taluk, Kancheepuram District for more than 50 years and the said property is subjected to statutory levies. The petitioner further claims that he and other people belonging to Scheduled Caste Community are residing there and despite in possession of the property for very many years, the patta is yet to be issued to him and in this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 23.08.2016 to the 2nd respondent and despite the receipt and acknowledgment of the same, no orders have been passed and hence, he came forward to file this writ petition. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2.

Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 23.08.2016 in accordance with law, after putting on notice, the person/s concerned and pass orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner as well as to the person/s concerned. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
