Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records of the third respondent relating to impugned proceedings in OMu.Mu.No.3177/2012 Pe3 dated 14.09.2012 and quash the same as ultravires, unconstitutional, non est in law and consequently forbear the respondents from interfering with the Independency of the Samathur Town Panchayat as enshrined under 73rd and 74th amendment to the Constitution of India, 1950. Heard Mr.B.Vijay, learned counsel for the petitioner; Mr.N.Manikandan, learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 to 3 and Mr.S.Mukunth, representing M/s.Sarvabhauman Associates, learned counsel for the fourth respondent and perused the records.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the order of the third respondent dated 14.09.2012 directing the petitioner to provide water connection to the house of the fourth respondent.

3. The petitioner has given a letter dated 16.03.2018 stating that when she was functioning as a President of Samathur Town Panchayat, the water connection given to the fourth respondent was disconnected on some complaint. However, subsequent to the order of the District Collector, the water connection was restored on 12.09.2012. Since the term of the Office is already over, she is not interested to pursue the Writ Petition.

4. The fourth respondent has given a letter stating that he is now enjoying the water connection restored by the petitioner on 21.09.2012.

5. In the light of the above fact, no further adjudication is necessary in this Writ Petition. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is closed. There is no order as to costs.
